You Can't Lose Me

It all happened so fast. Samantha watched in horror as Max and Jeremy Buck, Generation Me, dropped Jeff down hard on the back of his neck as they had done both the Motor City Machine Guns previously. She watched helplessly as Jeff lay motionless in the center of the ring while the referee tried to urge a response out of him. Finally unable to take it anymore she slid into the ring and went to him. "Jeff," Samantha pleaded softly. "Jeff c'mon answer me...."

Jeff just laid there unresponsive like he couldn't hear her.

"Jeffie please," Samantha pleaded, her eyes starting to mist. "Please wake up." She sat there helplessly as the trainers started to fill the ring.

Jeff contiuned to lay there not responseding.

Tears started pouring from Samantha's eyes, dampening the front of Jeff's shirt as she held onto him, holding his hand while they strapped him to a back board.

Jeff moaned softly as he squeezed her hand.

"Jeffie?" Samantha looked up when she heard the sound and gently squeezed his hand back. "That's it baby, you hang in there."

Jeff tried to open his eyes "Songbird." he said softly.

"I'm right here my angel of music," Samantha whispered. "I'm here baby, just relax," she said as they moved him onto the stretcher.

Jeff looked and asked "What happened?"

"Gen Me got you baby," Samantha said. "They dropped you like they did Chris and Lexie." She rubbed his hand with her thumb. while they pushed him to the back.

Jeff squeezed her hand and asked "Why?"

Samantha shrugged. "With those two, who really knows baby,' she said. "How ya feelin?"

Jeff sighed "Like a trunk ran over me." he answered.

Samantha nodded. "It'll be okay baby," she said gently, kissing the back of the hand she was holding.

Jeff sighed, he was in a lot of pain.

Samantha looked at him worriedly when another sound caught her attention. She looked back to see Mickie trying to keep Hailey from running down the hall after them. "No I wanna go with my daddy!" Hailey whined as Mickie tried to hold onto her. "Lemme go!"

Jeff looked at Samantha "Please bring Hailey?" he asked softly.

Samantha nodded and motioned for Mickie to bring the child over to them. Samantha positioned Hailey on her hip as best she could. "See sweetheart," Samantha said. "There's daddy." Hailey nodded and grabbed her father's hand.

Jeff squeezed her hand softly "Hoy little one." he said, gaving her a small smile.

"Hey daddy," Hailey said softly. "Me come with you, keep you safe."

Jeff smiled "Of course sweetie." he said.

Hailey smiled as she and her mother watched Jeff be loaded into the ambulance and then got in with him. Samantha knew this was gonna be the hardest part. Jeff hated hospitals.

Jeff swollowed and closed his eyes as they arrived at the hospital.

"Shhhhhh," Samantha whispered, squeezing his hand gently. "You're alright baby, I'm right here."
