A Life Changing Meeting

Samantha sat on the bench at the park a few miles away from the school. She didn't want to go home, not yet. She didn't want to go listen to her parents fight again. Little did she know her life was about to change.

Jeff sighed as he walked thru the park one more day and he had to hit the road again. He sighed as he looked for a bench to sit down on but the only one he saw had somebody sitting there already. "Is it ok if i sit here?" he asked.

"Go ahead," Samantha said, moving her walker out of the way.

"Thanks." Jeff said as he sat down "I'm Jeff.' he said.

"Samantha," replied the teen, staring out at the pond in the center of the park.

"So this is a nice park." Jeff said as he looked around.

Samantha nodded. "I come here everyday after school," she replied. "Beats going home."

Jeff nodded "Touble at home?" he asked.

"Parents in the middle of a divorce," Samantha replied. "They never even notice me anymore."

Jeff nodded "I'm sorry it must be hard on you. he said gently.

Samantha nodded slowly and kicked her walker. "That thing doesn't make life any easier."

Jeff gave her a smile "Well you never know, life may get better."

"No offense Jeff, but people have been telling me that for 15 years now," Samantha said. "Does it look like it's any better to you?"

Jeff smiled "Well from what i can see i would have to say yes."

"How would you know that?" Samantha asked.

"Well for one thing your young and healthy." Jeff said.

Samantha nodded. Jeff had a point. She looked up at him and from that moment she felt it, the spark began the minute her bright blue eyes locked with his green ones.

Jeff smiled as he felt it too, his heart beating faster.

"So....ummmmm what are you doing here anyways?" Samantha asked, looking away quickly.

"Stopping with my brother to rest for a few days before we hit the road again." Jeff answered.

Samantha cocked her head. "You traveling somewhere?"

"Yeah, well i'm almost always traveling." Jeff answered "I'm a wreatler."

"Ahhhh," Samantha nodded. "Makes since then, you'll have to forgive my dense moments I'm a natural blonde," she chuckled.

Jeff chuckled "Me too, under all this hair color."

"It's different that's for sure," Samantha smiled. "None of the guys I know would have the guts to do that."
