A Life Changing Meeting

Jeff chuckled "Yeah well i live by the moto 'live for the moment'."

"Wish the people around here could be like that," Samantha sighed. "They're all so damn uptight."

Jeff nodded "I know the feeling i grew up in a small town just like this."

"Yeah?" Samantha asked. "So you know what it's like when it feels like the whole world pretty much knows your business."

"Yeah i know the feeling." answered Jeff.

Samantha chuckled. "I swear you can't even blink without the whole town knowing about it........"

Jeff laughed "Yeah but it's worse when the town tries to parent you."

Samantha rolled her eyes. "I know," Samantha replied. "God forbid I try to skip a physical therapy appointment, not in this town."

Jeff nodded "My town used to always asked my dad when he was going to remarry to get a mom for me and Mattie, he hated that."

Samantha nodded. "They're doing the same thing to my parents now," Samantha said. "They aren't even divorced yet and they wanna know if they're seeing anyone........"

Jeff nodded "I love my home town but i'm glad i can travel now."

"You're lucky, you can get away, me I'm stuck here in Smalls-bury," Samantha said, mocking the name of her hometown.

"Someday you'll be able to go and leave and you'll have the whole world to see.' Jeff said.

"If you say so," Samantha said. She didn't know how she'd ever get out.

Jeff gave her a small hug "Cheer up maybe tomorrow will be better."

Samantha blushed and hugged him back.

Jeff sighed, it was getting late and Matt would be wondering where he was "I should proably be going." he said.

Samantha nodded. "Yeah.....me too," she sighed softly.

Jeff pulled out a scrape of paper and wrote his cell number "If you need someone to talk to you can call me if you want." he said as he handed it to her.

Samantha nodded and slipped the number in her pocket. "Thanks," she smiled.

Jeff smiled "See ya later." he said as he turned to walk away.

"See ya," Samantha smiled.

~One Year Later~

Samantha sat staring out the window of her second story bedroom watching for Jeff's car to pull in. He was supposed to be coming to see her. Her parents hated his guts, but she didn't care, she loved him nonetheless.

Jeff smiled as he finally pull up Samantha's house and got out.

Samantha smiled and darted down the stairs, grabbing her walker at the door and darting outside. "Jeff!" the now sixteen year old squealed.

Jeff grinned as she hugged him "Hey little songbird whats up."
